PileUp Life is an established lifestyle brand founded in Taiwan. We utilize sophisticated local manufacture resources to design and make products locally. We designed a modular chair system for customers to customize their one-of-a-kind chair. We solved conventional chair customization minimums requirements by systemizing the process and standardizing all the components. We would like our customers to have a “Just For You Chair”; because you make your own choices on each step, it will be the best just for you. The system also changes the usage of the furniture and customer relationships, since customers are able to replace broken parts rather than the whole thing when a chair breaks. The modular system lets the customers participate not only in the process of purchasing and manufacturing their chairs, but also creating additional emotional value for the users.

The PUL Chair System is a new way of design in furniture. We deconstruct a chair down into 9 parts, including the seat, chair legs, seat back, the connection part of the upper lower seat, and the arms. By standardizing all the components, it becomes easy and fun for the users to mix and match different components made by different materials, textures, or themes to create thousands of styles of a chair.

The materials we used for the components are wood, rattan, leather, linen, aluminum, brass, copper and steel. There are four styles to choose from, Minimalist, Classical, Industrial and Taiwanese style. Each style represents different culture and time periods in history.
